Last year's Championship was one of the most open and unpredictable there has ever been - who would have expected Stoke and Hull to make it to the Premier League?
This season sees a few clear favourites but no one club that truly stands out - QPR have the financial backing to bring in Prem quality, while Birmingham have retained most of the side that for much of last season looked fairly decent - the likes of McFadden, Larsson and co.
Reading will be anxious to climb back up straight away, while newly-promoted Nottingham Forest and Swansea will want to keep up their momentum. Outsiders? Coventry and Norwich both looked good at times last season, while Simon Jordan will be desperate for his and Neil Warnock's Palace side to have one last hurrah before they both quit.
There's always one 'giant' heading for the dreaded drop to the third level, and this season it could be Southampton - deep in debt and no longer getting parachute payments: though new boss Jan Poortvliet knows all about Total Football.
How will your team do? Are they heading for the promised land or to the obscurity of the third tier? Share your views here.
