Two questions are being asked of last night’s meaningless friendly against the USA. What didn’t Fabio try out a few of the fringe players? And why was Becks given a gold cap in a box? As of last night there were 16 of them for sale on Ebay.
England eased past America they way they always should. When you look at the line up of the team it’s hardly surprising. We had seven players who played in the Champions League final for goodness sake - Rooney, Brown, Ferdinand, Terry, the Coles and Hargreaves in addition to Gerrard. How the hell could we not qualify for Euro 2008?
The answer of course is Steve McClaren, the Wally with the brolly. This man should be sent to the Tower. He is almost solely responsible for a summer of sorrow for all England fans. We say almost solely because the players are never held accountable for playing badly, that’s just the way it is. It’s always the manager who falls on his sword or rather feels the cold blade of the axe on his neck.
McClaren must be given a punishment to fit the crime. He should be forced to coach Derby next season.

lol you lot make me laugh .its the players fault and only thier fault that england are not at the finals .They just aint good enough ,they would of struggled to get in to the teams i have played for .I f your not gonna bust a gut playing for your country then you shouldnt be in the team .A s we lost to the croats i want them to win ,as they are there in englands place .that way its better the team that has beaten you wins it .

as a boro supporter i was laughing up my sleeve when the fa picked mclaren, we were so pleased to see him go. even though he was our most succesful boss! the football was bloody awful, apart from two out of this world games in uefa cup, but they were down to halftime team talks by mark viduka of all people.

The F.A are to blame because they dont allow enough time for the players to get together and bond, you can have the best players in the world but its a team game. The papers dont help, its as if they want England to fail. Do they think they,ll sell less papers if we actually win something?!
