Habitual petty criminal Michael Carroll was one of the most famous convicts to win millions on the lottery. Do you think there should be some screening of lotto winners? Should criminals be made to give some of their winnings to victims of their crimes? Or is a winner a winner, regardless of their lifestyle?
Life in pictures: 'Lotto Lout' Michael Carroll
There are plenty of rich and wealthy and famous people who behave in antisocial/discrimatory and vile manners, lie, act outside the law and get away with it- how can you expect and judge any other member of society to behave any differantly as they choose just because they have won 9 million pounds and have chance to also do as they please ?
upsurge in gambling recently!
he's just your garden variety thug who might dominate with brute force but the gamblers are far more subtle takes a criminal to breed a criminsl!
in any case the only ones who make any money anywhere are the ones who are prepared to simply rip it off you by hook or by crook whether you consent to it or not if it was bad now it's diabolical.
that's the downside of the lottery it's non-discriminatory.
on the other hand you pay for a lotto ticket for a miniscule chance to win and then they give out grants from the profits to other organisations which basically means there is less in the prize pot which is why it doesn't pay out so much.
What's worse is nobody thinks it through they all buy tickets and fall for the false promises!
Sucker punches all the way.
It's really dishonest.
i don't belive criminals winning's should be taken, because where would you draw the line, but mr carrol has to be the biggest mug in town, all that money just pi**ed down the drain, when theres loads of deserving people out there, what a shame. simon.swan@talktalk.net
