Manchester recently won the bid to be the venue for the UK's first Vegas-style super casino.
Do you think a super casino in the UK is a good or bad thing? Is Manchester the right choice? Will gambling problems rise? Will you be visiting once the casino is built?

i never gamble so makes no difference to me but i do ocasionalyy have a noght out and go to the casiono its fun but i feel we could have spent this money on other issues like hospitals policeing beating crime etc
Manchester is an up and coming city big time.In aprox ten years there will be more here than london, and look like new york with all the skyscrapers going up.Its a good idea to have the casino here,it will give jobs, tourists to the city, good economy, with the gambeling approach, people will become addicted if it was there or not,a place dosnt make you addicted its the game, and already is lots of places to gamble in manchester....
I think that anywhere in Britain can do without these casino's it will only lead to people spending outwith their own means and no good can come from a casino anywhere. The only winners or people who will profit are the casino owners.
It should have gone to Blackpool - Blackpool needs something to bring in the tourists. Every place should be able to have a casino - you don't need to be in a casino to bet your life away.
I have holidayed twice in Perth Australia and, each time, visited the Burswood Casino. It was a night to dress up and do something a little different. Didn't spend a lot and didn't win either time, but I didn't become addicted.
