Manchester recently won the bid to be the venue for the UK's first Vegas-style super casino.
Do you think a super casino in the UK is a good or bad thing? Is Manchester the right choice? Will gambling problems rise? Will you be visiting once the casino is built?

Hi I worked i casino's for 14 years and I have heard all the rubbish that has been said. The majority of people that visit casino's find them safe, entertainment venues. The addicts are in a minority who would be down the bookies or the dog track, in fact anywhere they could put a bet on and these places are not controlled anywhere near as much as casinos.
Before you knock these establishments, go there and find out what they have to offer. Where I worked certainly offered a good night out and I would reccomend them ....
Surely it would have been better to have one in the north, Blackpool and one in the south, Millenium Dome. The one in London would have allowed easy access to visitors from Europe and would have been a valuable provider of Euros, whilst one in Blackpool would have helped revitalise a resort well past its sell by date.
There were some suprise locations for the other casinos.
I'm sure Manchester people need
something more important than a
casino.
When it comes to gambling there are always more loosers then winners. The true winners are the casino owners and the government. As far as the government is concerned it is a continued greed for more money as seen in green taxes.
Las Vegas workers call the city "Lost Wages"-How does anyone think that introducing a casino helps people who live there.
People who can afford to gamble, they are not a problem.
A lot of people now avoid pubs and city centres because of the culture of 24 hour drinking, does anyone expect that people who have lost more than they can afford will not either resort to crime to pay their debts or become victims of loan sharks?
Like the Millenium Dome and the Olympics, it is proposed by imbeciles, supported by accountants who do not understand VAT, and will be paid for by the majority of taxpayers who will gain no benefit.
sincerely very disenfranchised from
somewhere where my local Council Tax now exceeds my will to live, as I may be fined for putting my bin out on the wrong day, but the collectors cannot pick it up on the day because there is the wrong R in the month
