Police and immigration officers will be able to stop anyone and demand proof of identity under proposed new powers to be announced. Anybody who refuses the Big Brother demand could face arrest and a possible prison sentence. The move would effectively take Britain back to the Second World War, when people were stopped and asked to 'show their papers'. What do you think? Should the police be able to demand ID anytime?
No, this big brother government has gone too far toward a faschist police state.
ps my last post should read NO!
We are fast becoming a third world dictatorship, we will be arrested just for looking funny, the country is now on a downward slide to a police state, the fuzz have already been practising their newfound powers, arresting MPs ( which dose'nt realy bother me ) but if they can do that, then it's god help the rest of us. DNA being kept on file even if found not guilty of a crime, fortunately we may have a champion in the Human Rights Court, This government is all but crushing the rights that our forefathers risked their lives for. They should be charged with treason. What a shower.
Yes. Providing that citizens do not have to pay just in order to prove who they are. There are already more than enough means of identification available to make expensive ID cards a complete irrelevent waste of money.
They won't target those that need to be targeted because that wouldn't be 'Politically Correct' They will target white males and just to make it look good respectable working black males. How many women covered from head to toe will be asked to uncover their faces and show their identity?
