The ban on smoking in public places, which came into effect in England on 1st July 2007, has been a complete success, with 400,000 people kicking the habit in the last twelve months, according to a survey by Cancer Research UK. Do you agree that the ban has been successful?
lots of pubs are going bust because of this law, there should have been an exemption where a pub could opt out and become a smokers only pub where the staff smoke as well as the customers, no problems about passive smoking and those who frequent smokers pubs do so at their own risk, is it true that the house of commons bars still allow smoking you hear so many rumours?
By getting rid of one so-called problem you have created a bigger one you can't have it both ways
joan holdaway, are you one of those nice clean drinkers we should leave alone,y,know vomiting over the street, pissing in the gutter ,throwing kebabs and curries around, groping people as they go by,smashing windows, fighting each other and anyone else, ye you stand up for these drunken slobs
Yes the ban has had a measure of success in that a lot of people have actually stopped smoking, but outdoors now in the roads and streets of the town, is almost as bad as suffering the smokey atmosphere of the indoors before the ban. also, the mess created by smokers throwing down their butts is really disgraceful. Something must be done about this aspect of the problem.
they should close all the pubs and clubs down, they all stink, cause trouble and they are a well known haunt for gansters, dope dealers, wife beaters, rapists and murderers, why should i have to put up with it,i have never seen anyone doing these things after someone took a cigarette
