David Cameron is under pressure from Tory Eurosceptics to go ahead with his promised European referendum after Czech president Vaclav Klaus signed the Lisbon Treaty
As I keep saying; The onLY opposition to the system is the BNP.
This has now proved that the IS indeed a coalition at Westminster.
Wake-up.
It is true that the EU original referendum was less about a 'State of Eurpoe' and more about agreements fro common trade without borders, etc, etc - at least - thats how it was sold to the public! In actual fact, it was more of a 'communist based' extra tax and extra handout facility to aid redistribution of wealth amongst the euro partners - with the obligatory high percentage loss through beaurocracy on the way!. Apart from germany, britain and the scandinavians- its hard to think of any euro countries that have actively paid IN (in net terms) to the euro pot. (thats just my overall impression - but someone will know the facts). In any event it just seems as if europe has wanted to almost force the uk into their club as a suitable fund providing 'partner'.
joe from moscow very well put you hit the nail right on the head
Well done gordy, you've brought Britain to its knees. something Hitler and the Third Reich could'nt do. Present yourself for the Iron Cross
I wonder what the british people would think of the collusion of Mrs. Thatcher with the soviets over Germany. When she promised them she did not want unification which she said was also America's stance. Of course its mentioned in those diaries . Me I prefer to take Douglas Hurds account of things which backs this up. That is why he made sure when the documents were made public..........
William Waldegrave, who at that time was a junior Foreign Office minister, roundly declared that this was "one of the sorriest episodes in British diplomatic history". And the now-published records show that the Foreign Office, from the then foreign secretary Douglas Hurd down, did repeatedly warn (although not without some mandarin trimming along the way) that Thatcher's vocal opposition was impolitic, misguided and short-sighted. That is doubtless one reason why the Foreign Office is hurrying to publish the documents now, after just 20 years. Following the fall of the Berlin Wall, Hurd, Waldegrave, senior officials and diplomats would warn time and again against the folly of being an "ineffective brake" on German unification.
Fancy trying to stop the very thing that eventually brought down the soviets.
