The body of a pensioner may have lain undiscovered for five years in an Edinburgh city centre flat
Got to also remember that some people like to keep themselves to themselves this elderly lady may have done just that.
An uncaring, selfish society. I cared for my mother to the end on my own and no help from anyone. Can't rely on social services or their likes for anything, especially if you're a home owner. They get paid with tax payers money but do nothing for it. Really it is down to us all to be united, to put aside our differences and petty disputes, have a little give and take, and to care and watch out for one another in our communities. This kind of thing should not happen to anyone
This is very sad. I can only presume that this lady had no caring family members to check on her. No doubt if she has then they will all come out of the woodwork claiming her estate. I also would have thought that her post would be piled high behind the door and the smell waffing through the letter box would be enough to alert people before now. I just hope she has a decent burial. RIP
Another example of MILK SNATCHER THATCHERs evil legacy . The me me me culture of selfishness and greed , Very sad . Rest in peace , dear lady
It is sad but it is how the present time we live is. If anything happened to me all my bills would still be paid by DD providing my pension was being paid into my bank. The only time that would be stopped is if someone told them I had died. Another unfortunate thing now is when the meter reader can't get into your home they keep giving out bills on estimated readings. Most people don't have milk delivered to the door now, in the past if yesterdays milk was still there then enquiries would be made but it does notr happen now.
