I stand to be corrected, apparently the guard was merely battered severely, suffering injuries he never fully recovered from. So that makes it ok does it?I dont think so. Biggs is no hero, stop treating him as such.on that day,he knew EXACTLY what he was doing, with not a thought of anyone elses' well being. He deserves every day he gets of being banged up.

joe, that assault was blown well and truelly out of proportion and he died years later of a completely unrelated illness. biggs had no choice but to live abroad, it was that or 30 years for theft, i'd have done the same.

tom from london,I hear what you're saying, but at the end of the day a life was lost as I recall,he cant have a second bite at the cherry can he?Why should he Biggs be freed? He even deserted his country for god knows how many years, living the life of Riley{who was Riley btw} So think about it,he's not had such a bad life now has he,in spite of his crime!

joe, sort it out! he's done more than enough time for the crime committed, no one else has ever been given a sentence that long for nothing more than thieving. lets be fair, there was nothing in that crime that warranted that sentence. what are we hoping to achieve by keeping him banged up? other than saying, we can't let you beat the system, even if the system is wrong.
