   It is a fact that the royal family are funded by the public perce, THat means the tax payer (you and me) pay their way.
   The trouble is that they are born to and thus expect to be funded by us the tax payer and are living in grace and favour homes paid for and maintained by the tax payer.
   The royal family do not even come from a british blood line but we are expected to accept that, Though i do not wish them any harm or ill feeling i do believe it is time to say goodby to them and force them to enter the job market and start paying their own way in life rather than have the tax payer fund their increasingly financially demanding free ride through life.

   The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh are priceless, they have always worked hard and bring alot of money from tourists into the country. All the hanger-on's need to contribute and not expect tax-payers monies.

   as said before people who love the royals pay all they want us others who couldnt care if the live or die shouldnt have to its not the money its the principal we should have the choice in this day an age all are rights are taken from us its time we stand up an take them back

   Try looking at the cost of our unelected PM before looking at the price of the Royals. It should also be remembered that HM only owns Balmoral and Sandringham The rest belongs to the state. That however became a contentious issue when Windsor Castle went up in flames and the PM at the time (Mr Blair) would not allow public money to be paid to renivate a public building. A lot has been done by all of the Royals for their country. HM herself was in the ATS during the war and the HRH Prince Philip was on active service in the Navy. Their offspring have all "served" including HRH Andrew who was my ships protection during the Falklands war. His helicopter was sent up to get between the incoming missiles and our ship, without which the war could have gone a very different way. What have all of these people moaning about the cost of our Monarchy actually done for their country? Give me the choice of a politician or a Monarch and I will take the Monarch every time both for value and for common sense leadership
