Apart from a number of really narrow minded and somewhat ignorant opinions, what really concerns me is the level of illiteracy and poor spelling seen in the people who contribute to these discussions.
There is constant incorrect use of punctuation, appalling spelling and really bad grammar.

Yes lets. Then we can all blame the Social Workers again and get on believing we're all perfect in our world. Or shall we look at the fundamental reasons why this 'mother' did this horrendous crime?

whatever happens to whoever will not repair shannon mathews little life. whether she goes to the best foster carers in the world and if she never wants for anthing in her life again nothing will take away the fact that her mother is her mother no matter what shes done and i think our concerns now should be about shannon and not about who did what and when, that won't help shannon at all will it?

Just putting the case of negligent or abusive parent(s) aside for one moment, it is my belief that until Social Workers are held accountable in law and prosecuted for any proven negligence, we are not going to get anywhere. In the case of Baby P his plight was highlighted on a number of occasions, but in the end concerns were overuled by senior managers. It is these people, who in my opinion through their negligence and lack of proactiveness, are complicit in the continuing abuse and should be held accountable in the courts and jailed if neccesary. Perhaps then they may not be so happy to sit back on their laurels and self importance, content to ignore what is so clearly going on. Returning to the case of Shannon, her mother must have had a very dull brain to even believe that the plan to extort a reward would actually work. I would never give her an excuse for doing what she did, but poor upbringing with a lack of good moral standards, plus a lack of education have led this pathitic scheming individual to where she is now. The good side of it all is that her children have been saved from the remains of their horrendous childhood, with a peadophile step father and the possibility of even more abuse, which I dare not contemplate.
