Of course there should be an enquiry, and a few sackings.

There were warning signs ignored years ago with Shannon, yet these were'nt followed up. I know there are many social workers who do an excellent job, and never have enough time to complete their work. Obviously someone is to blame and heads should roll, unfortunately it's the social workers who always seem to take the rap. I do think there should be an enquiry into the failings and the truth should be aired for all of us to see. I do think that this government should get tougher on people claiming benefits, and do more to encourage people to get back to work. There are many who have no intentions of working, and relay on benefits all their lives. I know that it was reported that Karen Mathews was recieving benefits worth £240 a week. I hope that both Karen Mathews and the weirdo Michael Donovan get the lengthy sentences they both deserve, although I wont hold my breath on that one.

I blame the mum and the system, the councils put these single mums on these council estates, ( not all estates are bad!) and the only way of life for these sort of mothers are idle with nothing to do all day, with no intention of working while they are being kept by the state and nothing is done to encourage them to do so, so the system should wake up and stopped the NOT genuine sponges back to work, she is just a low life that I hope the poor kids disown her. But why she is getting £10 a week in prison for cleaning, don't suppose she's heard of the word. Utterly and totally disgusting.

IF IN DOUBT TAKE THE CHILDREN IN CARE FIRST, AND LET THE FAMILY PROVE THEY CAN LOOK AFTER THEIR KIDS. DonT LEAVE IT UNTILL ITS TO LATE.

I know it's not all, but why is it the majority of mothers who just aren't that good at being a mum go on to have loads of kids? And it's possible to be a single mum, hold down a job, bring your kids up right etc...I have done it. But I stopped at 2 kids! The Government should stop making it profitable for benefit scroungers to go on having kids, the social workers should listen when neighbours and teachers point out problems, and we should try to get both sexes to have some more self respect and stop jumping in to bed every two minutes with someone different. That would be a good start to stopping kids growing up like poor Shannon and her siblings.
