John Sergeant has left Strictly Come Dancing saying he wanted to avoid a "bloody battle"
all reality programs are the cheapest form of TV, you get some mugs desperate for their 15mins of fame, shove them altogether and A) starve them or B) mess with their heads and humiliate them Now the "celebrities" should know the form and not be fazed by it and any who are are just out for the publicity to help their flagging status, no pity for them. It is time the BBC started to earn their overinflated salaries & put on some INTERESTING programs, but then that would cost money and the salaries might have to take a fall if they ever had to balance the books.television in general is not worth bothering with.
who cares?. the program is nothing more then an attempt by the BBC to get more money from the idiots who watch and vote, the formula is simple:-
1) get a load of attractive women for the men to look at (and fantasize about) and vote for.
2) get a load of attractive men for the women to look at (and fantasize about) and vote for.
3) get some judges who have been in the relevant business for years and know what their talking about.
4) add a judge who votes the opposite to rest of the judges (just to course friction and course idiots to phone up and prove him or her wrong)
5) throw in an underdog (preferably someone well known), the public loves an underdog.
6) mix well and poor into a greased oven dish and leave to cook for x number of weeks.
result a program watches of millions of idiots who vote at £1.00p a time.
The public, naturally, because you will get a wide range of choices. "one Man's Meat Is Another Man's Poison" and all that. The truth is in the counting, not like a set of self-serving so-called judges.
It's irrevelant who knows best. Judges and public vote carry equal weight. Judges and competitors knew that when they signed up so they should not complain when it doesn't go the way they'd like. Judges were bullies but John should have continued to stand up to them. As others have said its good publicity vs X factor.
