John Sergeant has left Strictly Come Dancing saying he wanted to avoid a "bloody battle"
The judges are only there to raise the profile of their own non celebrity career. This all goes back to Tony Hatch who started slating acts in order to raise attention to his own flagging career. Now all the has beens or never will bes are climbing on the band wagon. There should be a public vote on the effectiveness of the judges and which judge is removed each week. Now that would be good viewing.
surely the people with the technical know how should be the ones that have the full say. Imean what is the point in the show being aabout dancing otherwise. You might as well call it strictly come bad dancing otherwise with the way the public have been voting
I think anfsgirl from wales just about sums it up, and what do the general public know about dancing, in its pure form, what do they know about music, so why have a panel of "experts" trying to guide the vote when their spiel falls on deaf ears, don't see the point.
The judges judge on the dancing side of the competition and the public judge on the entertainment value. If the public decide who they want to stay in is different to the judges, then the judges should gracefully respect this regardless of what they feel. They are supposed to be "professionals" and are only people not Gods.
i think the judges are a bit too stuffy at times, I know its a dance contest bit it is always on an unfair basis due to the contestants age ranges etc. how do they expect a guy like john sargeant to be as fit and flexible as someone like rachel stevens. Maybe if he was 30 years younger he would have given her a run for her money. unless they are going to do this on an age range, body type contest it will never be fair??
