Can London compete with Beijing in 2012?

Although Britain’s athletes shone at the Beijing Olympics, the UK has been ridiculed for its role in the handover ceremony

Boris Johnson was labelled as 'arrogant, rude and disrespectful' by critics of his handling of the flag and the speech in which he proclaimed “ping pong is coming home”. Leona Lewis, Jimmy Page and David Beckham’s performances also came in for criticism, with bloggers branding the whole thing ridiculous.

However, the show put on by the Chinese has been received with nothing but praise. Do you think that London can live up to its promises for 2012 despite concerns over the budget? Or will GB become the laughing stock of the world?

we can not compete with china, because we have to many greedy people involved with every part of the games, from building the venues, to government accepting bribes. Labour have killed of any hope of competing. Labour would win gold in stealing public money.

Not with Brown and Nue Labour In charge of Finaces, just like the ever increasing Burden of the Bloated Public Sector which is approaching £ Trillion there will be no money left for the Games, unless we streach it out over a Year and have all the venues at Wembly,
