Britain's six biggest internet service providers have signed up to a government-backed drive to clamp down on illegal downloading of music and films. The BPI are breaking the law on intercepting our internet connections, law on privacy and data protection act, Virgin will have to answer to it's share holders when profits in the company drop, also virgin would also be committing a crime, send these letters out making accusations and you run risk of committing slander and defamation of character. The BPI would not be affected, they could say they just give out information, on suspected illegal downloaders,it is ISP's who deal with information so they have to take the risks of making accusations. What is going to happen if one of these stupid letters ends up at the home of a solicitor, this solicitor could then bring charges against the ISP responsible for the letter. Say it is virgin who sent letter, that means virgin media would have to attend court and explain why they are making false accusations, against this person. it could cost virgin millions in compensation and costs.
Virgin are a load of crap anyway sooner we move the quicker virgin ntl what ever they call them selves today go never to be seen again
have u tried stopping kids p2p downloading its impossible what u need to do is go wifi n download on yer neighbours unprotected networks when they get cut of get a directional antenna n clone mac addresses it easier than stopping yer kids from downloading . ive got a kid waiting for the letter from virgin as we speak .oh and shares in video sites will plummet .and i notice multinational companys advertising on these sites ashamed u should be
the price we pay for connection, if they start banning people for downloading they will lose money......................
If the music and film indusrty charged less for the dvd &cds (When they cost less than 0.50p to produce). Nobody would bother to download, It's the industries own fault for being fat greedy cats.
