A judge has attacked a bizarre trend in New Zealand for giving children strange names as he made a nine-year-old called Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii a ward of court so that she can change her name and put an end to playground taunts. Some examples of names given to children in New Zealand include Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Sex Fruit, and Benson and Hedges (for twins).
Do you think it is a form of abuse to give your child a bizarre name? Do you know someone with a strange moniker? Share your thoughts.
Sorry it wasn't the Inca's it was the Iceni tribes
Depends doesn't it on the name how sensible it is put and the history.
I have named my daughter Boudiccia after the british queen of the Inca tribe who fought with glory for the Britons from the Romans only for her to commit suicide after the second invasion BUT the queen Boudiccia was a strong mother figure..... like I said it depends on the name and its reasons or meanings. Sex names and places of conception is pure wrong!!!!
IWhy the f***didn't my parents call me Tommy? I probably wouldn't have met my German wife, the bitch.
In english my name, "Peter" means "someone who digs peat". I find it very hard to chat up any girl not attached to the peat digging community. Not having a shovel doesn't help, either.
In Hebrew my name "Peter" means "a rock". I find it incredibly hard to chat up jewish girls. Having a small nose doesn't help, either.
