A judge has attacked a bizarre trend in New Zealand for giving children strange names as he made a nine-year-old called Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii a ward of court so that she can change her name and put an end to playground taunts. Some examples of names given to children in New Zealand include Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Sex Fruit, and Benson and Hedges (for twins).
Do you think it is a form of abuse to give your child a bizarre name? Do you know someone with a strange moniker? Share your thoughts.
you would think the Judges in NZ would have learned, back in the 60's a Judge called a gang of thugish bikers "Mongrels" hmmmm.... The Mongrel Mob was born, they kill, rape and extort, they are equal to Hells Angles with attitude problems, can just see the headlines, Mongrel Mob beaten by "The Nameless Hoodies"... watch out NZ you have been warned
not many replies is there ......
If no one was a bully then we wouldn't have a problem about the names we give our children. I was bullied when i was younger and it was sometimes for my name. my name is perfectly normal so just stop with strange names for now until SOMEonE does SOMETHING about bullying and hypocrits then we can call our kids anything we like and they can grow up without being taunted about anything!
WHO AGREES WTH ME????????????
I know just how these people feel.
I dont think parents think into child names much.
Stop whinging and appreciate the humour! That is CLASS!
And let's hope that it doesn't give Bob Geldof any more ideas for future progeny!
