A judge has attacked a bizarre trend in New Zealand for giving children strange names as he made a nine-year-old called Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii a ward of court so that she can change her name and put an end to playground taunts. Some examples of names given to children in New Zealand include Fish and Chips, Yeah Detroit, Stallion, Twisty Poi, Sex Fruit, and Benson and Hedges (for twins).
Do you think it is a form of abuse to give your child a bizarre name? Do you know someone with a strange moniker? Share your thoughts.
My mum is called Christine Crapper...what's so funny about that 'Dib'???????????
Is that your final answer hun? You do realise I do watch Time Team and its all based on theory and not fact until solid proof is provised. Theory about 60% of the time is outruled with lack of SOLID evidence and plainly a piece of pottery is not solid enough.
As a teenager, I must say, parents who call their children ridiculous names should be shot =P
Imagine putting a child through such misery on purpose just so you can laugh about it at the time. Lambert and Butler would be another cigarette one for twins. It's silly it really is =S
Kind of amusing for about 5 seconds, then it's a little weird...
Tony Robinson dug up a pot last Saturday....apparently Queen Boudica was a Polish immigant...
She'll will have a hard time chatting up Italians wouldn't she though??? lol! nice one pete. I didn't really want her to marry an Italian anyway lol!
