Defence Secretary Des Browne has taken the blame after two of the sailors captured by Iran sold their stories saying "ultimately, the buck stops here".
Conservative leader David Cameron has demanded an inquiry and Mr Browne himself has said, "clearly with hindsight I could have made a different decision".
Should Des Browne resign over the decision to allow the sailors to sell their stories? Do you agree with the angry backlash that has greeted the publication and broadcast of the accounts? Do the sailors have every right to profit from their captivity or does it set a dangerous precedent? Let us know what you think.
why shoul he resign all service personel know the risk and we just have to live with it and support our country or we will be too afraid to defend ourselves fearing condermation of course mr browne should look into the saftey issues lets get things in perspective on ST georges day is a good day to start
Yes he and all the corrupt government of this country shold go.
Corruption and maladministration in this country which is run by businesses not the so called politicians
You cannot have ministers of whichever party resigning over such a trivial Matter. The media should not Have approached the sailors in the first place. any future personnel captured by Iran could be placed in jeopardy.
Absolutely, along with the rest of this corrupt so called govermnent. Run a country, this lot couldn't even run a bath.
Not only should this incompetent idiot resign, but the Naval staff at the MOD should also be disgraced.
The 'ministerial writings' as submitted to all government ministers for any purpose is so bathed in verbose, inane gibberish that it would be quite easy to 'miss' the actual gist of the subject. So, let's also get the civil service into the act, for being responsible for the continuous verbosity of governmental jargon and writings.
