Should Des Browne resign over the sailors' stories row?

Defence Secretary Des Browne has taken the blame after two of the sailors captured by Iran sold their stories saying "ultimately, the buck stops here".

Conservative leader David Cameron has demanded an inquiry and Mr Browne himself has said, "clearly with hindsight I could have made a different decision".

Should Des Browne resign over the decision to allow the sailors to sell their stories? Do you agree with the angry backlash that has greeted the publication and broadcast of the accounts? Do the sailors have every right to profit from their captivity or does it set a dangerous precedent? Let us know what you think.

Go Immediately. He failed our Armed forces and in so doing failed this country. Our Armed Forces are being abused time and time again by people who consistently make bad choices. Is it not enough that our soldiers live like pigs and our war heroes treated like scum. Now our armed services can't even trust the government to advise them on something as minor as protocol. Well, another bad decision has moved from minor to major and our army made to look like idiots and traitors. This has got to stop. We train our army to be our protectors and gruesome killers not spin doctors, politicians and celebrities. The job our armed services have to do is tough enough. The UK is going downhill fast thanks to the efforts of incompetenmts like Des Browne and his department.
