Defence Secretary Des Browne has taken the blame after two of the sailors captured by Iran sold their stories saying "ultimately, the buck stops here".
Conservative leader David Cameron has demanded an inquiry and Mr Browne himself has said, "clearly with hindsight I could have made a different decision".
Should Des Browne resign over the decision to allow the sailors to sell their stories? Do you agree with the angry backlash that has greeted the publication and broadcast of the accounts? Do the sailors have every right to profit from their captivity or does it set a dangerous precedent? Let us know what you think.
WHY SHOULD THEY MAKE MONEY THEY ALL LOOKED VERY HAPPY WHEN IN CAPTIVATY, ALSO THEY AGREED WITH THEIR CAPTORS NOT SHOWING MUCH COURAGE, THEY ALSO SHOULD GO FROM THE SERVICE.
The man's morally bankrupt like the rest of this government.Get rid of them all!
my dad was p o w for 4 years he never got any thing
OK, forget how 'bad' a mistake it was, then. It was a serious lack of judgement. That's what we cannot afford in a Government Minister.
When he reversed his decision after agreeing the first story could be published Des Browne cheapened the armed services and thereby sent them the message that they are not important. His actions in my opinion was abusive. I understand he made an error of judgement but that does not excuse the damage caused and the emotional head ache and bad belly this matter has now inflicted on our soldiers. Des Browne - please resign today.
