    John from Bracknell re Elvis:
Did the collar match the cuffs?
Carpet fitted with the curtains in mind?
    We need to know.

In reply to the Elvis one. My big sis is a complete fanatic, she says Elvis's hair was very dark brown and that he used to dye his sideburns to match it. He probably dyed the whole lot towards his late 30s, but don't tell my sister...

Ozzy biting the head off a bat? Apparently not, but he DID snort a line of ants!

Myth no 6. Pink Floyd split up. I love DaveGilmour's guitar playing and most of his vocals are brilliant, but I think he should have left the Floyd name behind. Roger Waters wrote ALL the lyrics for Pink Floyd's most memorable albums 'Dark Side of the Moon' onwards, and sung most of the songs - Roy Harper did the vocals on 'Wish You Were Here', the title track of the album. Dave Gilmour did really well as a solo artist in between Floyd albums and could quite easily have carried on with the remaining band members as a different band name. A bit like Joy Division and Nirvana only with no deaths. Granted, they carried on as Pink Floyd after Sid Barrett 'left', but that's different. Pink Floyd have never lived up to the reputation they had when Roger Waters was with them; in fact they died a slow death since side 2 of 'The Wall'. Time to call it a day, I think - though I did love 'Keep Talking' from 'The Division Bell'. Seriously though, I have nephews and nieces in there teens who still listen to 'Wish You Were Here' and 'The Wall' (not sides 3 and 4 though), but don't get 'The Final Cut' (who's Maggie?). Imagine if Paul, George and Ringo had carried on making Beatles records after 1969 without John Lennon - 'Band on The Run' as a Beatles song? I hope you see my point.
