Britney kicked her teen pop persona into touch with this appearance at the VMAs in 2001, performing the song I'm A Slave 4 U dressed like an Amazonian goddess with a live python draped suggestively around her shoulders. It may have upset the animal rights fraternity, but it gave Britney another of her most iconic images.

    The caption to this should read - 'Get this slimey, horrible thing off me' - and that's coming from the SNAKE'S mouth!
