They may have touted peace and love, but The Beatles could be a nasty lot. The band's career was blighted by in-fighting and petty jealousies between main songwriters John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Lennon's treatment of first wife Cynthia – living in a bedsit with son Julian while Lennon toured the world in luxury – showed not all was cheeky and chirpy in the Mop Tops' worlds, despite the public personas.
Their music still plays on the radio today. I wonder how many of today's popular groups will get played in 40 years time, not many I suspect.

the fact that they are by a country mile the biggest selling band of all time and if you added the sales of madonna the stones abba and the bee gees together they dont even come close to the beatles and the fact that nearly 40 years after they split up people are still arguing about them kind of says enough doesnt it .But just in case you have convinced yourself that all this popularity is of a bygone era the best selling album in the world of the 21st century is the beatles 1 with over 26 million sold worlwide .they are the most popular in the world for good reason just listen to revolver and open your minds.

I'm not too keen on the Beatles early stuff but I have to say "Revolver" is a great album. "Seargant Pepper" was the perfect here and now album of it's time,brilliantly produced,intellegent,witty and funky as hell.But my favourite Beatles recording "The White Album" is excellent and even now it stands alongside any great record produced since.
