Between 1960 and 1963 the charts were dominated by middle of the road crooning purveyed by jumper-wearing men like Pat Boone, Perry Como and Bobby Vinton and light jazz for cocktail parties. Elvis had sold his soul to Hollywood and the most dangerous artist of the era was Cliff Richard. The Beatles changed everything, of course, but at least one-third of the decade’s music is utter pish.
The 60s was a more free-flowing World then, people were happier more-so them days, music was better than now by far, music now is all more false + only thing i shall say against the 60s was The Beatles were terrible performers + were way over-rated as for Paul Mc Cartney he has not got a singing voice and cannot sing.
As for the 70s 80s they were also better than today's so called music, where half the bands now bring our cover versions from that era + just murder the good songs, instance Rod Stewart brought out Handbags / Gladrags in the 70s and had a big hit with that, and yet we have a modern band just 2/3 yrs ago brought it out + murdered it.
As for todays music it isnt the same as the 60s or the 70s
actually my fav decade i enjoyed was the 80s as another person Bill from Scotland also said, thought the 80s was best i can agree, ive became dissilusioned with todays music that i dont even listen to it now though ive tried, but it's not for me.
sixties music the best listen to some of them and you can think back and rember where you were and what you were doing great memories

To put it in a simple way, each decade gives a foundation to the folowing decade. without the Rock n' Roll of the late 50s you would not of had the great pop of the 60s. Indie music like OASIS would be lost if it was'nt for bads like The Kinks or The Beatles and so many other bands. The 60s had a lot more going than the depressing time we have now. More artist than ever to listen to, the world cup carnaby street James bond, better long summers MPs having to work for thier wages . Everything was better then than now, so don't dare slag off the 60s quality of life was better then and respect.
