Between 1960 and 1963 the charts were dominated by middle of the road crooning purveyed by jumper-wearing men like Pat Boone, Perry Como and Bobby Vinton and light jazz for cocktail parties. Elvis had sold his soul to Hollywood and the most dangerous artist of the era was Cliff Richard. The Beatles changed everything, of course, but at least one-third of the decade’s music is utter pish.
How many people will be humming along to some of the rubbish we have today in 40+ years time? The sixties gave us some classic songs.
The 60s. Rock & Roll, Blues, Soul, Reggae, Ska, Rock. Nothing of note then? So why they still playing it now?
the worst decade for music by far was the 90s.
What a ridiculous question!?!?! The 60's was THE best decade ever for music......that's all I am saying! :o )
The author of this drivel is a complete dick. Obviously the same dick who had Depeche Modes Enjoy the Silence in the ten greatest songs of all time.
