Between 1960 and 1963 the charts were dominated by middle of the road crooning purveyed by jumper-wearing men like Pat Boone, Perry Como and Bobby Vinton and light jazz for cocktail parties. Elvis had sold his soul to Hollywood and the most dangerous artist of the era was Cliff Richard. The Beatles changed everything, of course, but at least one-third of the decade’s music is utter pish.
Music started in like 1300's but modern started last centery so yeah music did start off in the 60's i suppose :D
i was born in the 60s i rather been born in early 50s when the music began from the king elvis and other entertainers , pluss people in them day respect each other and you never had to lock your front doors every one had respect with each other its all gone down hill from the80 up wards.. the music them days you can understand what they were singing about not today you cant .
I think its for sure that it's overrated, I'm sick of hearing about it! If you watch American TV you'd think the world began and ended with The Beatles, JFK and Woodstock! Boomers are terminally arrogant.
i wasnt born in the 60s but anyone who doesnt agree that 65-75 were the best era for music havent really taken the time to listen because they are too busy being trendy and listening to the latest tunes.open your minds or just buy revolver.
pat says:
i was a teenager in the sixties music life people were so much better than today were has all this attitude and crime come from
I'll tell you where it all came from = increased immigration under several Labout governments. In particular the "gypsy" hoards from eastern europe and an "imploding" USSR !
