Noel Gallagher has slated the inclusion of hip hop at this year's Glastonbury Festival, blaming it for an apparent slump in ticket sales. "If it ain't broke don't fix it", Gallagher explained, adding: "If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?' I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."
Do you agree with Noel? Does hip hop have a place on Glastonbury's line-up, and is a headline appearance from Jay-Z responsible for slow ticket sales?
Not a problem at all. Regards to lyrics, I have no problem as long as the rapper is not boring. Mind you I am not impressed with violence at all.
To the blogger questioning the MOBO awards. You claim it would be shockingly outrageous if there existed a "MOWO" award (music of white origin award) ....errrr...one word...Glastonbury! JayZ was clearly an unwelcome experiment this year, so yes - the MOBO's are still needed (boring as they are) . Music lovers seem to get confused and hate it when genres and cultures mix , what's up with that? People, fix up!
the main question is: how can you call these subjects "new"? they've all been on here for ages.
if we had music of white origin( mobos) that would be racist but we have to live with this atrocious so called award. is it fair .its a crying shame!!!!!!!!!!!!!
anythings better than oasis(mediocre indie pub band) the problem isnt hip hop(hip hop is the culture, rap is the music element)cypress hill, public enemy have played it. the problem is jay-z - hes crap. rap 4 the pop charts - souless corporate sellout sh*te.take your bling wagon and entourage and leave town(if u see 50cent giv him a lift).
