Noel Gallagher has slated the inclusion of hip hop at this year's Glastonbury Festival, blaming it for an apparent slump in ticket sales. "If it ain't broke don't fix it", Gallagher explained, adding: "If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?' I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."
Do you agree with Noel? Does hip hop have a place on Glastonbury's line-up, and is a headline appearance from Jay-Z responsible for slow ticket sales?
Glastonbury is traditionally rock, why should hip-hop be allowed to invade it ? Hip-hop does not belong there
glastonbury is a rock festival and as much as, over time, music genres have merged, certain traditions shouldn't e.g glastonbury . every genre has it's festival and you do get the v festivals and stuff where evrything is thrown into the pot to accomodate different taste but this particular event is for guitar music.
hip hop is total E all the people who think its cool are all Gangsta types,LETS JUST BAN IT.
i think that glastonbury is traditionally for guitar music and although i am a hip-pop fan myself, they should in keep with tradition but i don't think the fall of ticket sales should be TOTALLY to blame on hip pop.
Yes and hopefully he'll bring Beyonce and a full entourage with him!
