We've revealed what we think are the Top ten best cover versions ever. Do you agree? Think we've got it completely wrong? Want to suggest any of your own? And what about worst cover versions?
Clapton's version of 'I shot the sherrif' pure quality.
Cannibal Corpse covering Roots by Sepultura. All the covers on Jeff Walker's (of Carcass fame) Carcass C*ntry. Especially Just Dropped In.
jimi hendrix version of ALL ALonG THE WATCHTOWER!
it was so good that bob dylan the original artist of the song for anyone who wasnt aware lol actually prefered jimis version better to his own so after jimi released ALL ALonG THE WATCHTOWER, bob dylan started playing jimis version..haha how crazy is that...
Soft Cell/ Marc Almond "Baby Love" , Roxy music/Bryan Ferry,"Jealous Guy"
and The Sissor Sisters "Comfortably Numb". All Brill covers!!
Some pretty obscure covers there. I think the best cover of 'Tainted Love' was done by Marylin Manson, I'm not a fan, but I loved that version. The Black Crowes version of 'Hard to Handle' is probably my favourite ever cover, closely followed by 'Summertime Blues' on 'The Who Live at Leeds' - Rush did it too, but forgot the words!
