With an all-star cast and Lost co-creator JJ Abrams directing, will Star Trek XI satisfy the show's highly critical fans, or will the Trekky boots prove too big to fill?
I hope it pushes the boundrys and lets Star Trek evolve. I enjoyed all the series and films but it did start to become limited as mush we have seen before only different players (eg time travel!)
I hope it keeps to established Trek History as thats one of the things I find appealing about Star Trek. I re-boot is what is needed and with Lennard Nemoy on board it looked great. I know Enterprise didn't quite work but that because apart from the 1st series the stories where a rehash of Next Generation or Voyager with a couple of suprises. The long 3rd series story was a big mistake as it went on for to long and the story was weak.
I would like to see what happend to Data / B4 from the last next generation movie as Datas death was also a big mistake.
All the next gen movies were as awfull as thier tv shows. You can't cast younger, not as good looking actors in iconic parts and rewrite the Star Trek history. It will be next gen style with none of the charecters resembling the ones we love to watch again and again. Theres only one actor who could play Kirk and his name is William Shatner.
I'm not sure if someone who thinks mtv-style movie clips where scenes are less than a couple of seconds long could actually have the skill to do any kind of space epic, let alone justice to an environment which has been running for around 40 years.
I have got a good feeling about it!!
just watched the boot leg trailer in empire films ,looks realy good. check it out
