Will Star Trek XI live up to the hype?

Will Star Trek XI live up to the hype?

With an all-star cast and Lost co-creator JJ Abrams directing, will Star Trek XI satisfy the show's highly critical fans, or will the Trekky boots prove too big to fill?

JJ will ruin this and we all know it , JJ is about to put final nail in the coffin , thanks JJ! , his work is real cack , jeez BSG was awful , really bad , and this will follow , maybe in 10 or more years star trek and be reborn , JJ is doing this too early and will kill star trek.
Should have given us a ds9 film , all the old cast getting called back as the dominion is once more on the warpath not this e. Simply look at those rediculous uniforms? and thats the future LMAO

How wonderful star trek was I now place an SD card in a computer to receive data and images and moving pictures.
They used solid cards like SD cards in star trek in 1968 40 years ago.
Science fiction becomes science fact again.
    What a wonderful show.

    Naahhh!!!
    I love ST ... I really do!!!
Although I rarely watch the OS nowadays ( seen them so often ), and ST:TNG first couple of series are now embarrassing to watch unless you're willing to laugh at it ..."Separate the saucer section!"( Dramatic music! ), "I'll press the button!"( Dramatic music! ), "I'll take the turbolift!"( Dramatic music! ), "I'm going to the toilet!"( Really dramatic music!!! ), etc.
The last series or two of ST:TNG are still watchable (but again has its moments! )
ST:DS9 I still really love, especially once it got into full swing with the dominion ... some episodes/moments still make for great TV! Although it followed the standard Yank TV format I can't help feeling it was trying to strain at the leashes and is probably responsible ( partly at least ) for the kind of story-arc series we are now getting from the USA ( instead of the "drop-in" and follow for an hour stuff they've been responsible for for so long! )
ST:VGR ...Yep! Good! And still watchable and enjoyable mostly ( can't they make these shows yet without the odd duff episodes? )
ST:Ent'pse Likewise! only I can't help feeling that this was a lost opportunity in so many ways, only finding its feet towards the end with far more involving, thoughtful and mature stories ( something all the ST series are guilty of! ). I mean why didn’t they try and plan it and have a sense of where they are going from the start ( like most US shows do now ), instead of that feeling of winging it for the first couple of series until they knew what they were doing?
As for this new venture? A step too far if you ask me ( sorry but I really feel this )
Why couldn’t they get actors that at least resemble the previous characters who played them?
The only ones who vaguely resemble their previous counterparts ( and I mean vaguely ) are Spock and maybe Scotty!
As for the acting? Is Kirk still …going …to …have …the …familiar …stilted …acting like Shatner does with this and all his other parts or is he going to talk normally. I mean is the actor going to be playing Kirk or Shatner or Shatner playing Kirk? ( the same goes for the rest of the actors )
The new Enterprise looks kaakkk! I’ve seen a far better, more realistic fan-made one out there on the net ( I think you know the one I mean! )
Sorry! I’d rather just ditch this idea and just go for the total reboot!!! Forget all that went before and just retell the story… make this a separate envisioning of the story to the 60’s one!!!
The only thing it seems to have going for it is JJ Abrahms … I love Lost ( Best thing on telly ). And I enjoyed Cloverfield. Oh! and I do love the trailer ( great idea ), I just don’t think the rest of the film will live up to it!
Oh! How I hope to be proven wrong and hope I enjoy this!
It’s just that I’ve seen so many precious memories/expectations tarnished ( what with the new Indy Jones movie and Phantom Menace, etc. )
I just think they should’ve let ST lie for a decade or two and then done a complete reboot like this!!!
