   I bought the Star Trek films box set, all 10 in there. I'm sure the people involved are good actors and it will be a good movie but for me personally Shatner defined the Kirk character as did the other actors in their respective roles.
   It's like in the last movie they had a young Pickard who looked nothing like Patrick Stewart.
   They should have gone for a Star Trek: Enterprise (or similar) movie not a rehash.

   They've got it all wrong yet again in the trailer they are building the ship on the planet. In ST TOS it was built in space dock.They just don't want to fallow the story line of the original series.

   this is not a new series we all know the origins off the crew there is no need to make films like this star trek needs to go on into the future and no one will fill shatners boots let alone the whole crew

   why, oh why, oh why do they release prequels more advanced then the sequels. they did it with Enterprise, the ship was more advanced and better designed then the Enterprise in the original series. then there's all the new races they discovered, what happened to them. what happened to that big ravine that got cut into the west coast of America, it didn't appear on any maps or images of earth taken from space in ST:TOS or ST:TNG. then there's the Klingons in Kirks time they had flat foreheads, in TNG they had wrinkled foreheads, in Enterprise set 80 years or so before Kirk they had wrinkled foreheads. if their going to make a prequel at least at the continuity right. of course they'll just use that big cop out machine they got aka the holo-deck and say it's just a holo adventure.
