The scene where he is brought into a ruined hospital by mysterious porters is skin-crawling, strapped to a gurney, he is taken corridor by corridor, into a nightmarish scene of suffering and weirdness. You won't sleep right for a month.

I would say Cloverfield should get a vote.. the scene where they are walking down the NYC subway when the camerman turns on the low light setting was scary...
What about Nightmare on elm st or It they both are calssics and scared me s**tless when i was younger.
I think that some of the scenes in M Night Shamalahan's 'Signs' starring Mel gibson have got to be in the top ten
