4. Iron Man

Another big budget comic-book superhero blockbuster, this time based on a lesser known character from the Marvel comics stable. Iron Man is pure, good old-fashioned fun, setting it apart from the slew of comic-book films which get bogged down in existential angst and affairs of the heart.
Why see it? A career-turning performance from a charming and disarming Robert Downey Jr.

Iron Man, for me, was MUCH more enjoyable than Dark Knight, Heath Ledger's performance aside. I felt Bats got bogged down in politics, Bond-style globe-trotting, and just general faff. I could have done with much more Joker; a notion made all the more sad by Heath not being with us anymore. But i digress, Iron Man was classy, sexy, fun, and fizzy. Sequel please :D
