Hundreds more speed cameras should be erected on street corners across the UK to enforce new 20mph speed limits, according to an influential government advisory group. Would this be a welcome move in residential areas, or would you oppose it?
Do you think the government are bothered what we think they only see ££££££, we are after all only one step away from been a police state , i think all speeding offences should be challenged in court.
If speed is so much a problem why do car makers keep selling us cars that do 135 mph why not have them limited to 70 mph lorries & vans are already limited to 56 mph ? come on we all know why things wont change the government dont want it to change, cashing !! even the police flout there own acops guidelines , why have we got officers hiding in umnarked vans or sat on bridges and slip roads ? as they say a good speed camera does not generate money only saves lives, how can it do that if it`s unmarked ? comments please from all you do gooders who only do the supermarket & school run ,thanks.
- just wasted my time writing and 'phoning to stop new speed tables being placed in my street. and adjacent.
Extra speed camera's should only be erected near schools, hospitals and elderly residential area's. None of the monies should go to the local council or goverment, all monies raised should go to local hospitals etc
To Ken from Runcorn :-
Are there any other speed limits where you would feel the need to be looking at your speedo all the time? Why is there an extra need at 20mph ?
The areas that get reduced to 20mph limit are where you need to be extra vigilant with your road observation.
Cameras not a prob. Stick to speed limit insted.

Should there be speed cameras on every street corner?
