Are you worried by rising fuel costs?

Dozens of lorry drivers took to the streets this week in protest at record-high diesel prices, which have risen by 30 per cent over the last 12 months.

With oil Giants Shell and BP announcing huge profits in the first quarter, how can the high price of fuel be justified? Are the rising costs affecting you or your business? Is it enough to drive you off the road? Share your views.

Petrol only costs about 50/60 pence to make and get it to the station - the rest is tax and profit, which I think is highly unjust and slightly appualing. Too much greed I would say, its also responsible for pushing up food and other products for the simple fact that they need transported, bump the petrol to say £3 a litre and you would see the same escalating prices we are seeing now, just far more obviuosly...

It was said that the interest rate was the cause of economic problems but i kept telling people that i worked with that it was due to rising fuel prices because the price of fuel affeced everything else but the goverment always blames mortgage and interest rates what a load of cr**. the goverment should sort out the high cost's to the rate payer through tighter controls on the way MP's make ridiculous claims for cost'a linked to the job which are being abused as well.

Here is a dilemma, you all know the government wants us all to go to work. I currently have two jobs, in order to make ends meet. Soon it will be cheaper for me to use the train ( even though the prices are ridiculous for the service) to go from one job to the next. I dont like being forced to use public transport as it takes more of my free time and I feel imprisoned to conform with the neo- dictatorship the government is adopting. WE have one of the strongest currencies in the world, surely we should be buying more fuel for our money considering it's sold in $US? What the hell is going on, does the government and oil companies think we are idiots? They must do if we keep paying for it at the pump!

With the price of fuel going up and its impact on other things like food and the fact wages dont go up to match it has had a big impact on me and my family. And it gets annoying to find out how much profit these big fuel companies are getting every year.
