With road accidents the biggest cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, there is a move to put safe driving on the national curriculum. Do you think motoring safety be taught at school or left to the experts at driving schools?
The highway code every year and hazard perception, definitely.
The Green Cross Code and pedestrian safety also from a very early age.
With regard to driving, that is what the DSA is for.
I would, however, like to see a mandatory Pass Plus for anyone under the age of 22 and a engine C.C capping of all said drivers.
Finally, because it isn't just the youths who are potentially dangerous to others, I would like to see a mandatory 5yr, theory and hazard perception test for all, whereby, if drivers' fail this, they can repeat it, but after this attempt, if they aren't up to speed with road rules, I would question their practical skills in a vehicle.
It may encourage everyone to become less complacent with a piece of paper allowing them to get around quicker and easier and hopefully, safer all round, and should be deductable from car insurance premiums, since the risk is lessened.
hek ye
hell yes
speeds on road are the big cause of road accidents.from 17 to 24-year old.So new driver should only driver a 600cc car with a top speed of only 60mph.. not car that do 130mph.
I've been saying this for years that it should be added to the school carriculum. It works in America.
