With road accidents the biggest cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, there is a move to put safe driving on the national curriculum. Do you think motoring safety be taught at school or left to the experts at driving schools?
Sounds like a good idea to me, after all if we teach kids how to drive correctly it should reduce the accidents when they steal cars.
Also what about safe driving retake lessons for the over 60's?Alot of this age group drive terribly and have also caused alot of accidents.Alot of the younger age groups tend to get killed or injured while being pedestrians.
I think cycling lessons with basic highway code should be taught to schoolkids up to the age of 14,then afterwards up to the age of 17,they should be made to ride a motorcycle or scooter with more highway code indepth before being allowed to get behind a car steering wheel in fact anybody taking a driving test for the first time should be made to ride a motorcycle for at least 2 to 3 years first before taking a car test, but at a young age, lessons in cycling should be brought in.
NO Get the 3R's right first
As the highway code also covers Pedestrians, Cyclists, as well as drivers, and all of it should be read by all, even the area of the code you do not always use, and the earlier the age the better, (9 - 10 year olds). And bring back the police visiting the 5 - 7 year olds at schools as they did in the sixties to teach basic road sence.
