With road accidents the biggest cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, there is a move to put safe driving on the national curriculum. Do you think motoring safety be taught at school or left to the experts at driving schools?
Both driving ability lessons as well as vehicle maintenance would be a terrific incentive to enjoy the lesson and help to understand what can go wrong mechanically and the results of stupid and careless driving....also a complete course in resuscitation and first-aid skills are vital for would-be Drivers....as are the weekly car checks for safety care....
well yeah they should. people my age need to be more aware of the risks because very few people don't know this and it is very annoying that they think driving is all fun and games, but what would teaching us these things do i mean learning about sexual education didn't work because teenagers are still getting pregnant and the knives thing well teachers don't tell us much about that apart from it can kill well i think there should be better education about these things and less stress as school is extremely stressful
More important to educate children as to what their legs are for!!!
I think it would be a good idea - but not before the kids learn to read write and add up - which sadly they seem unable to do these days. I see youngsters doing some incredibly foolish things when driving, no wonder they have accidents. I think some sort of new driver scheme would be good where they have to attend some courses after they have passsed the driving test, to learn more about driving safely and responsibly.
WTF? Safe driving in schools? ~When I was in school the kids in mechanics class pushed a teacher's car off a 20 foot ledge down into a tennis court. It's discipline and patience, not driving lessons, people need!
