Should safe driving be put on the national curriculum?

With road accidents the biggest cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, there is a move to put safe driving on the national curriculum. Do you think motoring safety be taught at school or left to the experts at driving schools?

Not everyone wants to drive you know. Why put kids through boring torture about driving. Let them make their decisions to drive

Those experts as some have written generally have to spend ridiculous amounts on fuel to put up with pupils telling them "This isn't how my mum or dad told me to do it!"

As with everything else you get what you pay for! If emphasis was placed on good tuition from QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS instead of kids jumping in the car with mum or dad to save money then there would be a great improvement in the skills of these young drivers who should have far more experience before they are allowed to sit any tests.

Pass plus needs to be mandatory as learners have no motoway experience before their driving test, yet can do as they please once they have passed!!

considering the the way kids are taught to drive by the so called experts and charged a fortune for the priviledge. national driving centres were learners are not on the public highway until they can control a car at the national speed limit and at the slower speeds before they are on the roads. if the road is 60mph and you can only drive at 40mph you are not safe on the road and shouldnt be there. Let the parents or the kids pay for their driving education not the tax payer. we already pay enough for their incompetence.

    Don't be silly.
English, Maths and Science should be covered in depth.

English = to read and understand the road signs and the highway code.

Maths = to work out that space time distances whilst driving
E.g. At 120mph it would take 30secons to cover one mile.

Science = to grasp the basics
E.g. Physics - A body in motion tends to stay in motion, regardless of how good you breaks or tyers are.
    Biology - Natural selection.

paying the school kids to have driving lessons by using money from our road tax is a great idea it'll give mr brown even more reason to put the tax up
