Should safe driving be put on the national curriculum?

With road accidents the biggest cause of death among 15 to 24-year-olds, there is a move to put safe driving on the national curriculum. Do you think motoring safety be taught at school or left to the experts at driving schools?

I think our failing education system should concentrate on getting the 3 Rs right and leave the driving to the driving instructor.

Oh what a great idea so what are deaf children at school going to do who don't understand the questions on the test because to them it is worded in jibberish? When instead it should be basic wording?

I hate all this talk about driving lessons and tests at schools, what about children who won't be able to pass the written test anyway?

This country forgot this and now my brother who's 25 and capable of driving can't drive as the written test makes no sense to him because those who have extreme cases of deafness yet wear hearing aids can't understand the questions, as deaf people can only understand simple wording like a child can.

Sorry but I have to state this.
The government don't think before they act and all you people who aren't deaf or have children who aren't deaf should think yourself lucky

I'm in 6th form at the moment and for enrichment we do driving theroy which was only put on the cylabus because people requested it. It's an excellent idea and even if you don't want to drive it does give an insight to driving and helps give the facts and does scare alot of people. in my eyes most people want to drive so its just helping education be more of what students want.

Driving instructors on the whole do not rip people off.The DVLA require a very high standard of driving to pas your test.If working for a driving school charging £18 per hour £4goes on petrol £6 goes to the school. It might easily take you 15 minsto your pupil and 15 back, soyou have done an hour and a half for £8 good money eh!Don't forget your tax holiday pay national insurance still to pay.Rip-off who are you kidding!
