Recent revelations that an unusually high percentage of all car accidents are involving those under 20 years old have reawakened calls to raise the driving test age from 17 to 18 and even higher. Is 17 old enough to be able to drive safely on the roads? Or would a change in the law help reduce the number of road accidents? Tell us what you think.
they should put up the age to 20 before they can even start to learn and 25 on a motorway
Age is really not the problem. The tendency that society has to restrict children’s experience - of competing, (nobody fails in case their feelings are hurt) calculated risk (ban conkers in case they bruise themselves) and taking responsibility for their own actions (its not my fault, the blame anybody and everybody else culture) - is helping to make it harder for youngsters to master safe driving if not the actual cause of the problem.
everybody has a right to drive when old enough, maybe the way to go is restrict seventeen year olds to less powerful cars for a year till their driving skills have developed
Bearing in mind the demands of todays traffic, passing the driving test is not as easy as it once was, however, no thought has been given for Motorway, Dual, Night and all weather driving conditions, unless the Pass Plus course is under taken.
This additional course can be expensive so many do not take it up.
We must consider making it a rule, that after passing a driving test additional training must be undertaken on Motorways/Dual carrageways/all weather within say 12 months before a full licence is issused.
Hebs from Aldershot so theres no need 2 drive under the age of 21 is there?? there isnt for lazy dossers like you some people dop go uni and real work incase u havnt realised
