Recent revelations that an unusually high percentage of all car accidents are involving those under 20 years old have reawakened calls to raise the driving test age from 17 to 18 and even higher. Is 17 old enough to be able to drive safely on the roads? Or would a change in the law help reduce the number of road accidents? Tell us what you think.
I think there should be restrictions on the power of the car you're allowed (similar to bike riders).
for 1st year of driving (regardless of age) max 100bhp
2nd year 130bhp, 3rd 160bhp, 4th 200bhp, 5th+ unrestricted.
If you have an accident (that is your fault) you move one place down the scale, get done for speeding you move 2 places down. No one should be able to pass their test and jump straight into a Ferrari!
bert if every1 17 drove at 50 on a motorway while every1 else ws driving at lyk 70 it would be more dangerous !!

I think the driving age should be left as it is but all new drivers for the first 12 months be limited to50 mph and anybody exceeding the limit should have to take the test again to signify new drivers the letter P would have to be shown on vehicle
