A66 has problems at the moment due to maintenance and at Darlington end a new roundabout.All temporary irritations -nothing like the road to hell M25.
I am so glad I live where I live -sure the roads could be better with potholes being filled in and the like,but not the kind of delays you get near London & Birmingham.
It depends no how many buses,tractors and old gits i get stuck behind.

bus get in the way cant use them as the never run on time cost to much and dont run be 6 am. takes about 10 minutes in car take an hour on bus so why use a bus plus cars dont smell
