Are Gatso cameras a step too far?

Are Gatso cameras a step too far?

Figures suggest that Britain is the Gatso capital of Europe, do you think that these cameras are just another way to cream money from motorists? Or are they a tool for preventing fatal road accidents? According to Swindon Borough Council, they may not be the best way to make roads safer. What do you think?

Money makers thats all they are...a couple of weeks ago coming off the m62 to halifax,a dual carriageway, with no houses around it,or buildings as such there are three speed cameras within a couple of hundred yards, why? money making thats all they are,yes im all for them on roads where there have been fatalities,,the main moors road from pickering to whitby has more fatalities in a week than any other road,it is windy bumpy, and has blind bends, and you should see the speed drivers go on it,yet not one camera, thats about eighteen mile stretch, not one camera......why?
