Portsmouth City Council is slashing the speed limit in residential areas from 30mph to 20mph and other councils are expected to follow suit. Will this save lives or is bureaucracy just killing motoring?
Don't worry about 20mph we will not be able to afford cars soon.
20 mph bring it on to many loony speedfreaks about in my town, drivers are pedestrians to! we are all driving to fast for the conditions town or country yes lets teach the kids the green cross code but lets teach them to drive without killing themselves and others think yourselves lucky i have to drive at 10mph all day where i work and with good reason thats what speed limits are for .
20 MILES PER HOUR I AM NOT GOING TO SPEED UP FOR ANYonE.NO SERIOUSLY 20 IS OKAY IF YOUR JOGGING BUT NOT IF YOUR IN AN AUTOMOBILE..I WonDER HOW MANY MP'S ARE DRIVEN ANYWHERE AT 20MPH......????
all the road improvements seem to favour the pedestrian has anyone else noticed this, perhaps they should teach these stupid people how to cross the road properly and then they would'nt get knocked down in the first place. i am a driving instructor and i notice daily how people walk out in front of learner drivers hoping they will stop, why walk out in front of a learner in the first place. The speed limits were set in the early 60's, no ABS, no disc brakes, no servos i reckon a learner can stop in 30 feet at 30mph not 75 feet as the highway code states in modern cars.
20mph.....May as well get on my mountain bike!!!
