The Pre-Budget Report is expected to see Value Added Tax cut from 17.5% to 15% as part of a £15 to £20 billion "fiscal stimulus" to encourage spending and spur economic growth. The Chancellor is also said to be unveiling the plan for a 45% top rate on people earning at least £150,000 a year. Will a 2.5% VAT cut make any difference to how much you spend this Xmas?
Yes! I will be spending 70p in the £(that's Gordon the Moron's bit) when I fill the car up. 80p in the £ when I have a drink (again to the Moron) etc.etc.etc. So yes, I will be spending big, so will everybody.
